Cleaning of  Bunn Coffee Maker will decide your brew taste. I know this is the least favorite and time-consuming step but necessary to adopt if you want a perfect brew and to avoid replacing your Bunn Coffee Maker after every few years.

The cleaning process is simple but the problem is to decide which matter should be used.

Vinegar, Lemon juice, and Baking powder are three amazing things used to clean your coffee machine. Each of them has pros and cons that should be kept in mind before selecting.

Vinegar is a dilute solution of water and acetic acid but has magical powers to clean and descale your coffee maker. It is cheap and easily available in every home. But it carries a pungent smell and taste that is unbearable in your brew. Its strong odor can't be easily removed.

Lemon is another commonly used cleaning material that is also very effective. It is also very handy and preferred due to its sweet smell and refreshing flavor as sometimes we willingly add a few drops in our brew. But squeezing lemon and getting juice is another mess and maybe not available in some areas or specific seasons.

Baking powder is also used to clean Bunn Coffee Makers. It is also available in almost every kitchen but it is less effective than vinegar, and lemon juice.

You also have to use a tool or pointed object to clean the coffee maker's spray head.

After selecting the cleaning material, you now have to know how to use it?

Prepare a solution if you are using...

   Vinegar

1 part of vinegar with 2 parts of distilled water.

   Lemon Juice

1:1 is the proposed ratio but it is not a strict rule. You can go stronger if you want.

    Baking Powder

1 cup of water with a quarter cup of baking powder.

Method of Cleaning Bunn Coffee Maker

Prepare a solution of mild detergent with warm water and clean the outer of the machine thoroughly.

Rinse the cloth with water and again clean. This step should be done 2 to 3 times as detergent also causes damage to machines.

Pour your solution of (vinegar /lemon juice/baking powder) into your coffee pot and start brewing.

Brew 4 to 5 times with simple water to vanish the odor of the cleaning material used.

Remove the spray head and clean it by using a tool or any pointed object.

Clean the spray head completely outside and inside by using the long end of the tool or any long stick. There may be a lot of build-ups to remove inside of the spray head. It will take much time as it is the main storage tank of deposits.

Put crushed ice and salt in the carafe and rub it with a scourer or sponge. Rubbing of ice and salt will give the carafe a crunchy cleaning. Wash it again with detergent as your daily routine.

Fix the spray head again after washing and wiping.
